About JR Nagoya Takashimaya

JR Central Towers is a station building directly connected to JR Central's Nagoya Station, and this department store is its core facility. It is not a directly managed store of the long-established department store Takashimaya, but is operated by JR Tokai Takashimaya Co., Ltd., which is jointly managed by JR Central and Takashimaya.

Tax-free services available

At the Takashimaya Service Counter on the 11th floor, you can receive tax-free services. A foreign currency exchange machine is also installed next to the tax-free counter.

*Tax-free services are available only on the day of purchase, and receipts, purchased items, and your passport are required. In addition, the acceptance of souvenir tax exemption has ended.

The largest terminal department store in the Tokai area

Although it is a relatively new department store that opened in 2000, thanks to its excellent access directly connected to Nagoya Station and its large sales floor area with a wide variety of products, it boasts top-class sales in the Chubu and Tokai areas. On the 51st floor, the Panorama Salon features cafes, restaurants, and a premium lounge, and its excellent views are also popular.

Furthermore, with the addition of a connecting passage directly linking it to the super high-rise JR Gate Tower, the site area has become one of the largest in Japan. Inside JR Gate Tower, the specialty store zone "Takashimaya Gate Mall" has been opened as an expanded floor of JR Nagoya Takashimaya. This area has more of a fashion building atmosphere than a department store, and houses apparel shops for young people and cafes.

Annual popular events that draw large crowds

Since 2010, JR Nagoya Takashimaya has held the "Rakuten Umaimono Taikai" (Rakuten Gourmet Food Fair), which brings together popular gourmet foods from Rakuten Ichiba, the online shopping mall operated by the Rakuten Group, every year. Shops that have stores on Rakuten Ichiba gather here, making it a popular event where visitors can enjoy popular gourmet foods from all over Japan.

Since 2001, the number of brands participating in "Amour du Chocolat," a Valentine's festival, has also been among the highest in Japan. Many pâtissiers and brands from Japan and abroad gather here, and sales in 2025 reached 4.9 billion yen.
