About TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN

Tokyo Skytree Town is a district formed around three main components: the Tokyo Skytree®, a broadcasting tower boasting a height of 634m (the tallest in the world for a tower); the commercial facility Tokyo Solamachi®; and the office facility Tokyo Skytree East Tower®. It is one of Tokyo's major landmarks and a popular tourist destination for visitors from both Japan and abroad.

Below are the facilities located within Tokyo Skytree Town.

Tokyo Skytree®

This tower was built to a height of 634m, a number chosen as a play on "Musashi" (6-3-4), the name of the ancient province that covered parts of Tokyo, Saitama, and Kanagawa. While it serves as a transmission base for terrestrial digital broadcasting (a role it began in 2003), it also functions as a disaster prevention facility. In addition to observation decks where you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the Tokyo skyline, the tower features cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops.

Tokyo Solamachi®

A large-scale commercial facility housing over 300 shops. Many stores offer "Japanese-style" items such as modern Japanese-style sundries and sake, making it a popular spot for purchasing souvenirs from your trip to Japan.

Tokyo Skytree East Tower

Directly connected to Oshiage (Skytree-mae) Station, this is an office building with 31 floors above ground and 3 floors below. The 2nd through 11th floors are restaurant and shopping floors (Tokyo Solamachi), the 12th floor is the Sky Lobby, and the 30th and 31st floors serve as a restaurant floor.

Sumida Aquarium

An aquarium designed like a park with the concept "The closer you get, the more you’ll love it." Notable features include an area themed after the Ogasawara Islands and "Edorium," where various types of goldfish are gathered. Also popular are the jellyfish area, where you can observe about 14 species of jellyfish, and the penguin area, which became a hot topic for its "correlation chart" that includes the staff members.

Konica Minolta Planetarium "TENKU"

An adult-oriented planetarium operated by the planetarium equipment manufacturer Konica Minolta. The venue screens a wide variety of programs, ranging from seasonal star charts and constellation themes to collaborations with popular anime and musical artists. They even offer unique experiences like "Healing Planetarium," where aromas are released during the show, and "Horror x Planetarium."

Tokyo Skytree Station

A station on the Tobu Railway Isesaki Line (nicknamed the Tobu Skytree Line), which is directly connected to Tokyo Skytree Town.

Oshiage (Skytree-mae) Station

A station served by Keisei Electric Railway, Toei Subway, Tokyo Metro, and Tobu Railway. This station is also directly connected to Tokyo Skytree Town.

Others

The area also features gardens and plazas where visitors can enjoy various seasonal plants and flowers.

Nearby Facilities

While not strictly located inside Tokyo Skytree Town, these are convenient facilities and relaxing spots located nearby.

TOKYO mizumachi

A spot located between Tokyo Skytree Town and Asakusa. It gathers shops and facilities that utilize the waterfront space, such as a community-style hostel and restaurants integrated with the park and river. Featuring casual cafes, sports facilities for both adults and children, and shops for exhibitions and tourism support, it is a great place to enjoy alongside Solamachi.

Sumida Park

A park that stretches across both banks of the Sumida River. On the side closest to the Skytree, you will find a Japanese garden, an observation deck, and "Soyokaze Plaza," where various events are held.
