About TOKYO Solamachi
Tokyo Solamachi is a large commercial complex located at the foot of Tokyo Skytree, which opened in conjunction with the completion of the Skytree.
There are tenants on three basement levels, from the 1st to the 8th floors, and on the 30th and 31st floors, with more than 300 stores in total. There are also souvenir shops and areas that recreate the townscape of Edo, making it suitable both for sightseeing and shopping.
B3F: Solamachi Entrance Directly Connected to the Station
It is directly connected to Oshiage Station on the Tobu Skytree Line, Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, Toei Asakusa Line, and Keisei Line, and you can reach each floor of Solamachi and the offices by escalator or elevator. There is also a small area with shops selling food and sweets, as well as a space for pop-up shops.
1F–3F: Shopping Mall With Food and Miscellaneous Goods
On the 1st floor, there are food and miscellaneous goods stores, the Solamachi Shopping Street and Station Street, where craft-focused manufacturing shops line up, as well as a bus terminal and the group ticket counter for the Tokyo Skytree.
On the 2nd floor, there is a food marché and a collection of fashion and miscellaneous goods stores, as well as an access point to Tokyo Skytree Station on the Tobu Skytree Line. The 3rd floor features the food court Solamachi Tabe Terrace, the Tomica & Plarail Shop, Rilakkuma Store, UNIQLO, LOFT, and more, making it a popular area for families.
4F: Floor With Entrances to Various Facilities and Souvenirs
This floor includes the entrance floor to the Tokyo Skytree, escalators leading to the entrance of Sumida Aquarium, the outdoor area Sky Arena where events and other activities are held, the Japan Souvenir area where you can find Japanese-style souvenirs and items, and shops selling character items and goods from various TV stations.
The Japan Souvenir area is themed around the homes of the great merchants of Edo, called “Oodana,” and is an impressive area featuring the warmth of wood. It is lined with shops that handle Japanese-style items such as warlords, swords, pickled plums, and food samples. A distinctive feature is the abundance of products and services you can experience, such as tasting and comparing different pickled plums and making your own preferred salt.
5F: Recommended for Families
This floor houses the exit floor of Sumida Aquarium and Tokyo Skytree, a shop selling Skytree goods, children’s playgrounds, and an animal playground. The kids’ zone is divided into areas according to age, so children from babies to elementary school students can play safely. There are also rest areas that adults can use, facilities with crane games, photo sticker booths, and AR activities, so people of all ages can enjoy themselves.
6F–7F: Casual Restaurant Area
These are the restaurant floors. A wide variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese restaurants are available, allowing you to choose according to your mood. There are also many places where you can fully enjoy Japanese food culture, such as Okinawan local cuisine, Morioka cold noodles, Nagoya’s specialty hitsumabushi, okonomiyaki and monjayaki, and matcha/Japanese tea cafés. On the 7th floor, there is also the planetarium Tenku, making it ideal for when you want to relax.
8F–10F: Areas for Learning and Leisure
These floors house university campuses and cram schools. In addition, on the 8th floor there is the Dome Garden, where you can enjoy glamping and BBQ. You can enjoy authentic outdoor experiences without bringing anything, and in the winter you can eat hot pot dishes, and kotatsu and hot-water bottles appear in the booths, allowing you to spend time comfortably. On the 9th floor is the Postal Museum Japan, which exhibits about 330,000 kinds of stamps and about 400 materials related to postal services and communications, and on the 10th floor there is also a blood donation room.
30F & 31F: High-Rise Restaurant Areas
These floors are home to restaurants and bars where you can dine while enjoying the view. On clear days, you can even see Mt. Fuji. Many of the establishments are relatively high-priced, making them perfect for anniversaries or meals with someone special.
