Exploring Pilgrimage Sites For Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc

Sana Yoshida

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s hit manga Chainsaw Man is split into two parts: Part 1 “Public Safety Arc” ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2018 to 2020, and Part 2 “Academy Arc” has been serialized on Shonen Jump+ since 2022.
A dark fantasy that follows a young boy named Denji, who unexpectedly gains the power of the Chainsaw Devil and grows as he works as a Devil Hunter. Known for its wildly unpredictable plot, colorful cast of characters, and numerous parodies and homages to famous films, the series has earned widespread acclaim both in Japan and abroad.
The TV anime began airing in October 2022, and in September 2025, a compilation of the 12 episodes was released as a two-part feature with a total runtime of three and a half hours. On September 19, 2025, the sequel to the anime, Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc, was released in theaters in Japan.
Pilgrimage Sites from the Reze Arc
These locations aren’t officially confirmed, but fans believe scenes in Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc to depict areas around Sarugaku Street 2-chome, Kanda, Tokyo
Street by the Aoi Building

In the scene where Reze heads to her part-time job at the café “Futamichi,” the street appears to match the road in front of the Aoi Building, about a 7-minute walk from Suidobashi Station (East Exit).

Onnazaka

The staircase Reze uses on her way to the café looks very similar to Onnazaka, just around the corner from the Aoi Building—about a 5-minute walk from Ochanomizu Station (Ochanomizubashi Exit) or Suidobashi Station (East Exit).
Onnazaka and its steeper counterpart Otokozaka were created in 1924 (Taishō 13) as part of post–Great Kanto Earthquake reconstruction, carving a passage through what had been a cliff. Onnazaka features two landings that make it easier to climb, while Otokozaka rises more directly.

Phone Booth (in front of Kanda Catholic Church)

This is the phone booth right by the church entrance near the Aoi Building.
Because it’s close to Onnazaka, it has become a pilgrimage spot for fans as the booth where Denji first meets Reze.

TROIS BAGUES VERTES

A café that fans say looks very similar to the exterior of the fictional “Cafe Futamichi (二道)”
It’s the second location of the long-running coffee shop Trois Bagues in Jimbocho, and it’s busy every day with people coming for coffee and crepes.
Note: They don’t take reservations, so lines can form—especially on weekends. It’s best to plan your schedule with a bit of extra time.

About Chainsaw Man
In the anime, orphaned Denji makes a contract with Pochita (the Chainsaw Devil) and is taken under the wing—and control—of Public Safety Devil Hunter Makima. We follow Denji’s life as a Devil Hunter, his relationships with standout characters like his boss Makima, senior colleague Aki Hayakawa, and the “Blood Fiend” Power, and their battles against Devils with all kinds of abilities. The story balances stark drama with humor and became hugely popular from the anime.
Part 1 “Public Safety Arc” spans 11 manga volumes; the anime adapts roughly Vol. 1–5. Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc covers the story told across Vol. 5–6 (fourteen chapters).
We watch Denji’s chance meeting with Reze, a girl working at a café, and their fleeting “youthful” moments such assneaking into school at night and watching fireworks—before the story swerves into shocking developments, intense battles, and the bittersweet conclusion that follow have earned high praise among fans.
