Jujutsu Kaisen

Main Characters

• Protagonist

  Yuji Itadori

  虎杖悠仁

  Birthday: March 20

The protagonist. Born in Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture, he is a first-year at Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, though he grew up with no connection to jujutsu. After swallowing a special-grade cursed object, one of Ryomen Sukuna's fingers, he becomes Sukuna's vessel, and his grandfather's last words fix his purpose: making sure people get what he calls a proper death.

• Classmate

  Megumi Fushiguro

  伏黒恵

  Birthday: December 22

A first-year alongside Yuji, and a Grade 2 sorcerer who goes out on missions. The Ten Shadows Technique, handed down in the Zen'in clan, one of the Big Three sorcerer families, lets him summon ten shikigami out of his own shadow. He wants a world where good people are rewarded, and he chooses for himself who he saves.

• Classmate

  Nobara Kugisaki

  釘崎野薔薇

  Birthday: August 7

A Grade 3 sorcerer in her first year at Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, and the heroine of the series. She comes from the countryside, four hours from the city of Morioka, as she puts it. Her Straw Doll Technique works through a hammer, long iron nails, and a straw doll, and she refuses to be anyone but herself.

• Teacher

  Satoru Gojo

  五条悟

  Birthday: December 7

He teaches the first-year class and is the strongest special-grade sorcerer there is. As head of the Gojo clan, one of the Big Three sorcerer families, he inherits Limitless, which places infinity in the space between two objects and lets him control distance at will. He also has the Six Eyes, said to appear once in several centuries.

• King of Curses

  Ryomen Sukuna

  両面宿儺

In the story he is a man who lived more than a thousand years ago, called Ryomen Sukuna because his looks and his power resembled the four-armed demon of that name in legend. He is known as the King of Curses, and his twenty fingers survive as special-grade cursed objects. When Yuji swallows one of them, Sukuna comes back in the flesh inside him.

• Upperclassman

  Yuta Okkotsu

  乙骨憂太

  Birthday: March 7

A second-year at Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School and the only student who is a special-grade sorcerer. He is haunted by the vengeful spirit of Rika Orimoto, his childhood friend who died in an accident, and he is the protagonist of the prequel Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The story makes him a descendant of Sugawara no Michizane.
