About Maginotai Green Park

Maginotai Green Park is a campground in Shingo Village, Aomori Prefecture. It covers 65 hectares, includes a petting area where you can meet animals, and shares its grounds with Michi-no-Eki Shingo, a roadside station.

Camping and Animal Encounters

Along with tent sites, there are eight bungalows, cottages, and a drive-in camping area. In the park's stream you can also try catching fish with your bare hands.

A brown and white pony with a shaggy blonde mane leans on a wooden fence.

At the petting area you can spend time up close with goats, sheep, and rabbits. There are pony rides as well, and the milk and ham workshop on the grounds makes and sells dairy products and ham.

Venue for the Mystery Camp

Every September the Shingo Village Mystery Camp is held here. It is an outdoor event run with the monthly magazine Mu, and it began in 2022.

The program includes an itako room with a spirit medium, plus an alien costume contest. It ends around the campfire with the Shingo UFO Ondo, a folk dance. About 800 people were reported to have attended in 2025, and the 2026 edition has been announced for September 12.

The village also has a museum, and a legendary site known as the Grave of Christ.

Opening Information and Getting There

In most years the park is open from late April to early November. The shop and other facilities are open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed on Wednesdays, though they stay open every day during the summer holidays.

Admission is free. Tent camping starts at 1,000 yen per night, and a bungalow is 3,000 yen per night. The days when camping and hands-on activities can be booked differ from the shop's opening days (as of August 2026, according to the official site).

The drive from Hachinohe Station takes about 50 minutes, and there is parking on site.

Most of the year this is an easygoing campground where you can play with goats, yet for one night in September it turns into something else entirely, crowded with itako and people in alien costumes. That contrast is the best thing about it.
